Classic rock is one of the most popular styles of music in the world, touching the lives of generations of people. Yet ironically, no one knows exactly what classic rock is. Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple: There are certain artists who everyone agrees belong in the classic rock story, but where does that story begin and where does it end? For some, classic rock constitutes music released during a specific period of time. For others, it’s a genre or simply a radio format. Filmmaker & lifelong rocker Daniel Sarkissian has taken it upon himself to travel the world, from the Sunset Strip to Abbey Road Studios, interviewing artists from iconic bands such as KISS, The Guess Who, Jethro Tull, The Doobie Brothers, Guns N’ Roses, Twisted Sister, Alice Cooper, Styx, Triumph, Grand Funk Railroad, Megadeth, Korn, Billy Talent and many others, all in search of an answer to the question: How do you define classic rock?
